Wake Up, Wake Up!

Wake Up, Wake Up!

Spirit of the living God
Come fall afresh on me
Come wake me from my sleep
Blow through the caverns of my soul
Pour in me to overflow! ~Jeremy Riddle

Our gracious Father has fallen upon us, whom will listen? His loving hand outstretched offering mercy and redemption, whom shall accept such a gift?

Having been in prayer a lot more than normal this morning it is having an impact on the soul unlike any words can describe. While not continuously in prayer, but rather stopping my activities to spend a few minutes with our Father at the top of each hour is setting the soul straight, staying close to the Father, seeking the Holy Spirit and longing for the forgiving touch of Jesus Christ opens the heart, mind and soul to the point of wanting to share with the whole of the world. The picture of the Apostles / Disciples and their missions work is a little clearer. Having joy that is unknown makes one want to share with others. It is easier to grasp what they did and why they did it.

This day is only about 5 hours old and it is unlike any other day in the past. While practicing what has been started for the next 5 hours the excitement grows, the love inside wants out, the hands of God want to type faster and the Spirit is lifting higher and higher with each passing minute.

There is no megaphone large enough nor roof top high enough to shout the Good News far enough.

Isiah 51 CSB

9 Wake up, wake up!
Arm of the Lord, clothe yourself with strength.
Wake up as in days past,
as in generations long ago.
Wasn’t it you who hacked Rahab to pieces,
who pierced the sea monster?
10 Wasn’t it you who dried up the sea,
the waters of the great deep,
who made the sea-bed into a road
for the redeemed to pass over?
11 And the ransomed of the Lord will return
and come to Zion with singing,
crowned with unending joy.
Joy and gladness will overtake them,
and sorrow and sighing will flee.
12 I — I am the one who comforts you.
Who are you that you should fear humans who die,
or a son of man who is given up like grass?
13 But you have forgotten the Lord, your Maker,
who stretched out the heavens
and laid the foundations of the earth.
You are in constant dread all day long
because of the fury of the oppressor,
who has set himself to destroy.
But where is the fury of the oppressor?
14 The prisoner is soon to be set free;
he will not die and go to the Pit,
and his food will not be lacking.
15 For I am the Lord your God
who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar
his name is the Lord of Armies.
16 I have put my words in your mouth,
and covered you in the shadow of my hand,
in order to plant the heavens,
to found the earth,
and to say to Zion, “You are my people.”
