Rejection is a strongman that attacks our thinking and the very core of our being. It can set in as a child even as far back as our mother’s womb. It follows us through our childhood and leaves us continually feeling rejected as an adult. When we don’t root out the rejection, we often perceive rejection from people when in actuality, they aren’t even rejecting us.
Behind rejection is a lying spirit, a lie we are believing. Rejection can be rooted out by discovering the lie and dismissing the thoughts we are entertaining in our minds. Rejected people are often people pleasers and even though they want to be accepted, they believe if they compromise their thoughts and feelings and do things for people that they will be accepted and not rejected.
Rejection goes in a never-ending cycle until we discover its components and root it out of our lives. We need to learn how to dismiss the thoughts and feel secure in our relationship with Christ because when He accepts us, no one can reject us.
