Answer When Called?

Answer When Called?

How many times should the Lord call upon us before we actually listen and, more importantly, respond?  How many times will He call upon us as we ignore His call, His plea for obedience?

If you have been following along you know the Lord reached out many, many times before the door was opened and the heart softened. Unlike people, God is far more patient and understanding than we could ever be. We go about our day and never once thinking of Him, asking for His guidance or seeking His presence. When we slow down, be still and breathe what happens?

As recovery takes root and the latest battle with allergies or the flu subsides it has been easy to look without seeing, hear without listening and allowing the heart to crust over. This is what Isiah told the people so many years ago, and it holds true today, tomorrow and forever. We listen but don’t hear, see only with our eyes and allow the cold envelope our very being as move among our brothers and sisters. It’s as if we are surrounded by ghost that our eyes look past never acknowledging the beauty of each petal. It is time we return and be healed.

Isiah 6 NKJV

4 And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 So I said:
“Woe is me, for I am undone!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King,
The Lord of hosts.”
6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar.
7 And he touched my mouth with it, and said:
“Behold, this has touched your lips;
Your iniquity is taken away,
And your sin purged.”
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:
“Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?
Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
9 And He said, “Go, and tell this people:
‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand;
Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’
10 “Make the heart of this people dull,
And their ears heavy,
And shut their eyes;
Lest they see with their eyes,
And hear with their ears,
And understand with their heart,
And return and be healed.”
