207 Members of Congress Sign Brief Urging Supreme Court to Revisit Roe v. Wade By Tré Goins-Phillips for Faith Wire
Dozens of members of Congress are kicking off the New Year with a pro-life message, signing a “friend of the court” brief urging the U.S. Supreme Court to revisit its decades-old decision on Roe v. Wade.
According to a report from CNN, a total of 207 lawmakers — 39 Republican senators and 168 members of the House of Representatives, the majority of whom are Republicans — signed the brief Thursday. It was filed by the pro-life group Americans United for Life in connection with a challenge to a Louisiana bill that requires abortionists to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals

Katie Glenn, who serves as government affairs counsel for AUL, said in a statement “there is no expectation that this case will overturn Roe v. Wade.”
“However,” she added, “the court has the opportunity to reconsider the cases that have come before this case and in particular related to the workability of Roe and other precedents.”
