Guilt of The Past…

Guilt of The Past…

Guilt is a terrible thing we wrap around our minds and our lives like a baby in swaddling cloth. We keep it close as to not allow too much exposure, for it is best others don’t see.

Guilt keeps us away from God. It most certainly kept me from God for more than 25 years. Some of what was experienced no person should ever have to experience, but that doesn’t mean we should allow those situations to be the driving force our thoughts which become our life. When we know God, have a relationship with Jesus Christ and are filled with the Holy Spirit, the guilt of the past and fear of the future fall from our lives. We are no longer held captive in our mind. We are free.

Stepping aside and allowing God’s thoughts to be our thoughts keeps us focused in the moment and centered in what is real and meaningful. When our thoughts become polluted by our sitnkin-thinkin’ the door opens wide for the enemy.

Paul teaches us how to have the mind of God.

Philippians 4 NKJV

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
5L et your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
