Prayer For Others

Prayer For Others

The power of prayer is real. Peter teaches us why prayer works and why Jesus Christ answers prayers. Sometimes, as many of you know, the answer can be “no” or “not now”. This is to say there is no immediate response to prayer.

Praying for others prosperity, health and well being showers their lives with all the goodness of Gods will. As we pray for these things for others God listens and showers the lives of others with the hope of His goodness, the love of Jesus and the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. We can not say what God’s plan is for ourselves or others but we can make known our desire for goodness in the name of Jesus Christ for specific people. We are taught over and over throughout the Gospel that the Father will not give his children bad gifts nor will He deny their request. He may delay and He may retool our prayer but He will not backtrack nor provide “less than” the prayer.

The answer at the time when a person is praying may be “not yet”. The prayer will be fully answered. The road to the answer may be long and filled with twist and turns unforeseen. Why? Because, our part is to trust and stand-down. We are not in charge.

Ephesians 1 NKJV

15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,
16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers:
17 that he God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,
18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power
20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,
21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church
23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
