Keeping Watch

Keeping Watch

Being on the lookout means we must act a certain way. Keep quiet, keep still and not be found out by our adversaries. We also keep watch over ourselves to ensure our mind doesn’t take over and begin passing out orders we would rather not follow. The enemy loves to get in our mind, plant seeds and watch the chaos of his work unfold.

The Holy Spirit fills us as our Lord and King watches over us. Jesus reminds us that He is watching over us, but Jesus also reminds us to keep watch on the horizon for the winds of war and and darkened sun. These would be signs of His coming.

When I was drinking there was always a war, rumors of war and a darkened heart, no need to keep watch as they were a constant. What I needed to watch for was love, hope and a softened heart to get out of the battle. Our Lord continually sent angels, messengers, of all kinds to let me know He was watching, He was there and He was protecting me. Paying these messengers no attention the enemy was happy to fill the void and create more chaos where love is suppose to reside.

It is only by the grace of God, through a dream that has been described many times, that the battle ended. The Father sent his Son to save me, to end the battle and fill this vessel with the Holy Spirit.

Mark 13 NKJV

24 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;
25 the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
27 And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven.
