“My old con law prof, sadly, being deeply deceptive,” Cruz responded to professor Laurence Tribe’s comments about the pro-life movement. “Abortion targets in particular minority women.”

Tribe, a constitutional law professor at Harvard, ignored the eugenic roots of the pro-abortion movement and the high abortion rates in minority communities when he wrote a post Sunday on Twitter about racism and opposition to abortion.

“White Supremacists oppose abortion because they fear it’ll reduce the number of white infants and thus contribute to what they fear as non-white ‘replacement,’” Tribe wrote. “Never underestimate the way these issues and agendas are linked.”

Cruz, one of Tribe’s pupils and a strong pro-life advocate, corrected him later Sunday.

“Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, was a vehement advocate of eugenics,” Cruz wrote.
