Today Is The Day

Most of us heard about the anti-christ. Someone who is lawless with a global presence. In II Thessalonians 2 Paul talks at length about the “lawless one”. Is he in fact telling the Thessalonians about the anti-christ? It sounds like it to me. But this is not my focus. Overcoming is always the focus.

My life was devoid of the law; devoid of the Light and was filled with a kind of darkness that I didn’t know existed. Being well aware of darkness was not the issue, the issue was understanding that my life was engulfed and I living through a deception so profound that I had no idea that it existed. I thought all was well and life was good. It was only in the last few days, actually a few months, that it became apparent something about my life was terribly wrong. Then came the real issue – driving out the darkness with Light. Sounds easy enough, until you find yourself surrounded, confused, drunk and living in a bubble of false pride. The layers of darkness was another aspect that was not easily understood. As God would tear down one wall, there would be another that I would stand behind. It took months just to get to the point of seeing the first ray of His Light in the dark recesses of my soul. Is it necessary for us to live this way to truly experience God? I pray that is not the case.

Falling to our knees and humbling ourselves before God is a good first step. Realizing we are powerless without His grace and mercy poured out over our lives is how we open the door and invite Him into our lives. Living a life of lawlessness…look at our society. Look around the world and it’s easy to see both the darkness of lawlessness and His Light shining bright like the Son.

II Thessalonians 2 NKJV

6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time.
7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
