Pope Is Focused on Splinter Instead of The Beam

Pope Is Focused on Splinter Instead of The Beam by Randolph Jason for Gospel News Network

The Pope is once again allowing the politics of his position to show clear. The Pope is preparing for a trip to Panama and as he is leaving the walled Vatican City felt the need to share with the world how he feels about border walls and illegal immigration. The hypocrisy can not go overlooked.

Matthew 7:5 CSB

Hypocrite! First take the beam of wood out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to take the splinter out of your brother’s eye.

If you’ve not seen the wall surrounding the Vatican it is massive. The intention is to keep the people inside safe and secure from people attempting to illegally invade their space. That is the only reason for the this behemoth of a wall. Why else would one build something of this size that encompasses the entirety of Vatican City?

Maybe I’m being to harsh on the Pope. Maybe the Pope didn’t actually mean that walls were “unChristian” when he said ‘walls are UnChristian”. Maybe he meant something entirely different.

This structure completely surrounds Vatican City, which is a sovereign nation within the nation of Italy, that has, as you can seen, been heightened since the original construction. This is not decorative nor does it serve any purpose outside of it’s intended purpose – safety and security.

Today, the Pope has once again made some hypocritical remark about migrants invading other countries while he and his closest ally’s live in the safety and security of Vatican City behind a gigantic wall.

Pope Francis wasted no time wading in on the standoff over funding for a US Mexico border wall on Wednesday as he started his trip to Panama, saying on the plane from Rome that hostility to immigrants was driven by irrational fear.

In a brief conversation between the pope and journalists on the flight, one reporter described the barrier that juts out into the Pacific Ocean between the two countries in San Diego, California, as a ‘folly’.

Francis, who has made defence of migrants a key part of his papacy, responded: ‘Fear makes us crazy.’

President Donald Trump, with whom the pope has sparred before on immigration, has triggered a US government shutdown over demands for $5.7 billion in funding for a wall along the United States’ southern border.

Immigration is expected to be one of the main themes of Francis’s six-day trip. The pope met eight refugees in Rome before heading to the airport for his 13-hour flight to Panama for World Youth Day.  Source

It’s all fine and well if the Pope feels the need to tell the world how they are wrong, he just needs to live the same life that he is dictating. Please note the Pope “met eight refugees in Rome” – not Vatican City. Maybe if the Pope ordered some of the pedophile priest to be arrested this wall issue would look a lot different to him.
