The Lord Looked Upon Him…

If a person has ever been down in the gutter, down-and-out, you know, like hit rock bottom, they know what it means to be in the fire of hell. Their life has been through something that a lot of people never get to experience. The trials, tribulations and utter terror of being in a place that is almost completely void of any Light. As a matter of fact if a person has ever experienced a black-out drunk, they know there is absolutely no Light. There is only darkness and one can not see anything, hence the term “black-out drunk”.

God doesn’t do this to us, we do it to ourselves under the supervision of the devil himself. We have bought the lies so completely that we know not what we are doing, what we are saying nor have any control, much less power, of our life. Our lives are unmanageable and we are left without power of any kind on any level. We are walking dead.

God doesn’t want us to be in this place. If we want it and ask for it, – if we want it and if we ask for it – Jesus Christ will rush to our side before we can finish asking, before we can finish seeking, before we finish knocking. Jesus is already there, He is simply waiting for us to turn in His direction.

And the LORD looked upon him (Gideon), and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? ~ Judges 6:14 KJB

Our Father, God of All, is there, He gives us Strength, Power and Wisdom, first we must seek, ask and knock upon the door of Christ’ wisdom, mercy and grace in order for the Lord to respond. We can then walk in His Power, His Strength and be Guided by His Light to find our way out of any and all darkness to bathe freely in the Light of His Love, Truth and Healing of our soul.

Sometimes, even in the midst of all this wonder and awe that our lives are being showered we stumble, we fall and we look differently upon the grace and mercy that our lives have been showered. Yes, we can see the beauty, but is it intended for us?

And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house. ~ Judges 6:15 KJB

Instead of seeing ourselves in the Light of our Father’s Love, we see ourselves as being less than a child of God. Not sure why we do this, but we do. God tells us that we belong to Him, and as God is looking upon us through the blood of Jesus Christ seeing His perfect, holy and anointed child, we struggle to accept this fact, this reality. Do we believe or don’t we believe? Are we followers or are we still sitting on the sidelines, observing from a distance or continuing to question wether God be with us or not?

And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said, Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said. ~Judges 6:36-37 KJB

How many times does the Lord our God need to show us, prove to us that He is with us, He is for us and He will never leave us?

And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water. And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew. And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground. ~ Judges 6:38-40 KJB

Not sure about others, but this story is very familiar in a life lived in corruption, in sin and finally, finally, finally turning to the Lord, our God through His Son, Jesus Christ, and accepting heart, soul and mind, the grace, the mercy and healing He has held all this time.

Don’t put it off. Jesus is waiting for all of us to want Him and ask Him, first, to heal and fully restore our lives. Shouldn’t today be the day to, at the very least, consider this proposal?

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
