According To This Word…

When the “tempter”, the devil, came to Jesus in the wilderness, after 40 days of fasting and no water, the “tempter” quoted scripture to Jesus in an attempt to steal Jesus’ Christ identity, the Son of God. Of course, being the Son of God, Jesus knew exactly what was happening and how to handle the situation. The question is – do we?

Do we know when the devil is using truth to tell us lies? Do we know when the devil is using beauty to trick us into accepting darkness?

And when they say to you, “Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living? To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. ~ Isiah 8:19-20 NKJB

Some may call this “using good judgement”. We call it listening to, and following, the Holy Spirit who brings us Counsel at the exact moment we need it. This happens if we allow it, and pay attention, to what is happening, what is actually being said and in what context it is being said. The Holy Spirit will flush it out, we just have to be ready to act against the world and be prepared to stand alone.

We will not be alone, there just won’t be anyone in the world standing with us, only other Ambassadors, the King of kings and the Holy Spirit. Everyone else will have departed, as we not buying into any nonsense. The ones filled with teachings from “mediums and wizards” may be upset, or maybe Jesus will grab them as they are walking out – or maybe He won’t.

They will pass through it hard-pressed and hungry; and it shall happen, when they are hungry, that they will be enraged and curse their king and their God, and look upward. Then they will look to the earth, and see trouble and darkness, gloom of anguish; and they will be driven into darkness. ~ Isiah 8:21-22 NKJB

Our responsibility is to stay in the Word of God. Our responsibility to rely upon Him, His wisdom and His love for us. When we do that, when we walk in His Light, what could come against us? Nothing, as God will keep us close to His bosom and under His wing.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
