For My Yoke Is Easy and My Burden Is Light… Step Three

For My Yoke Is Easy and My Burden Is Light… Step Three

Step 3 is the time for everyone to get serious. In the original transcript of the book Alcoholics Anonymous there was a line that read something like – “If you have reached this point in the book and have not accepted God, you should throw this book in the trash.” The publishers and others surrounding the authors didn’t want to have such harsh language in the book. I disagree, sometime when we are dealing with undisciplined people a firm tone gets their attention in ways that a softer tone allows them to remain absent.

3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

We find ourselves always asking about who we are, why are we here and what is our purpose. These are not easy questions to answer. They are simple questions to answer but reaching the appropriate solutions is only found through God. This is what people typically overlook, and in some cases reject out-of-hand.

Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. ~ Matthew 11:28-30 KJB

We leave our burden at the foot of the cross, we learn of Jesus Christ and His will takes the weight off our shoulders and provides a clear path for our Steps.
