Corruption That Is In The World Through Lust…
Where do we see corruption in our world? Are we guilty of being corrupt? Where does this corruption come from, what is it’s root?
When our eyes go astray and lust fills our heart the door is not only wide open the door has been ripped from the hinges and the wall holding the door is collapsed and our heart and soul are now wide open for a full on attack from the devil. Sure, we may turn away our eye from that lustful vision, however, the devil has already gone through his playbook and found a dozen, two dozen, 180,000 dozen ways to attack and devour us whole. What we believe was a lustful thought has actually morphed into something else BEFORE the thought has completely run it’s course. The devil waste no time in taking advantage of the freshly tilled soil that is laid barren awaiting any seed of corruption to be planted.
Peter does a marvelous job of describing exactly how the devil uses one situation to open the door but quickly moves from sin to sin to sin to sin until our heart is hardened just enough to make us act. Of course Peter shows us how the devil does this from the perspective of Jesus Christ, which means Peter shows us how to avoid the attacks of the devil and his endless playbook to make us take our eye off Jesus.

We can not be bothered with lust if we are focused and moving in faith that is virtue that creates knowledge which brings about temperance then patience that leads to godliness as we walk in brotherly kindness that is nothing more than charity. There is absolutely no room for lust or any of the other nonsense that is in the devils playbook which is designed, specifically, to trip us and make us to take our eye off Jesus Christ. By following Peter’s description of our walk with Jesus Christ how in the world is the devil going to make us to walk in the corruption that is in the world through lust? Not going to happen
Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
