Grant Me The Place…
When we sin against God – that is, turn our back to God – should our family, friends and community be punished for our inequities, our trespasses? What sin has our family, friends and community committed?
While our lives are being driven by our compulsive, addictive behaviors is it not ourselves that are making the decisions about next steps in our lives? We feel we no longer need God’s direction, we no longer need God’s advice, God’s wisdom nor any need to follow His will because our free will is doing just fine. It is doing just fine, until it isn’t. Our free will always and forever runs aground.
And David said unto God, Is it not I that commanded the people to be numbered? it is I that have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? let Your hand, I pray O LORD my God, be on me, and on my father’s house; but not on Your people, that they should be plagued. ~ I Chronicles 21:17 KJB

We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.
We should always be aware of our family, friends and community when we have sinned, turned our back to God, as we would not want any of our mess to befall them. They are innocent of our behavior. The others in our life did nothing.
It is only in our turning back to the Lord, through Jesus Christ, that we can make amends to those in our lives. If we have sinned against the community, and all in it, then our amends should be community wide. If we find ourselves in a position of authority, our amends should be made public for all to hear, for all to see.
Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of this threshingfloor, that I may build an altar therein unto the LORD: thou shalt grant it me for the full price: that the plague may be stayed from the people. ~ I Chronicles 21:22 KJB
Our sin should be ours and not anyone else. We are an individual child of God. We are not a member of the the “greater good” for God, we are children of God.
Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
