Our Christ Identity: What & Where by Randolph Jason for Gospel News Network
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: and lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. ~ Matthew 3:16-17 KJB
When Jesus was saved our Father, God, identified His Son as the Son of God. Jesus and John the Baptist – who was anointed before birth, John had already been filled with the Holy Spirit – they were in the River Jordan along with several people. The people watching – witnesses to what has happened – are equally as important. Having a witness to such an event is part of what makes the Truth…the Truth. If someone claims to know their identity without witnesses to what happened, did it happen? Witnesses confirm that something happened.

We are told that faith is an important aspect of our relationship with Jesus Christ. What about trust? During the conversation Ken Schortgen, author of several books on living a Christian life, points out the fact in the Tora, Old Testament, the word “trust” is used in well over 100 times while the word “faith” is only used a handful of times. This reverses in the Testimonies, New Testament, with “faith” being used a several hundred times while “trust” is now pushed aside and used only a handful times. This is a major change as these words have very different meanings.
If you have followed the work we have been doing you know the subject of Christ Identity is very important around here. It is one of the subjects that means the most to my life. Living in our Christ Identity is how we remain close to God. It is how we are able to hear God’s voice. It is one of the keys to living a life of trust and faith in Jesus Christ. He is always with us. Jesus left us with the Holy Spirit who lives in us, who speaks for us, who guides our lives activities and thoughts – if we get out of His way and live in God’s will.
This is a great conversation that has been far too long in the making. We hope you enjoy and learn a little something.
