The Power of The Lions…
My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths and they have not harmed me, inasmuch as I was found innocent before Him; and also toward you, O king, I have committed no crime.” ~ Daniel 6:23 NASB95
Something happens when we get on our knees and pray. We should be praying throughout the day and night and a lot of times we find excuses, or we have legitimate reasons, why we can’t physically get on our knees and pray. When we can, we should. Humbling ourselves on a whole-other-level makes prayer more meaningful and brings us closer to God.
Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his house (now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously. ~ Daniel 6:10 NASB95

Three times daily kept Daniel from being crushed by the lions in the lions den. When the king heard of Daniel praying with supplication and giving thanks and praises to God Almighty, the king had him arrested and thrown in the lions den. The king sealed the den, went to sleep – which he could not – and at dawn found Daniel alive and well. The king understood that God had rescued Daniel because of his faith and God’s mercy and grace.
We should pray in this same manner, with this same conviction as Daniel. Daniel’s faith could be felt, seen and was easily known. Not because of anything Daniel had done, but because of grace from God. Daniel accepted it, lived it and walked in it all day, every day. There was no denying and for this reason the lions stood-down. We should pray, with supplication and thanksgiving all through our days.
I make a decree that in all the dominion of my kingdom men are to fear and tremble before the God of Daniel;
For He is the living God and enduring forever,
And His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed,
And His dominion will be forever.
He delivers and rescues and performs signs and wonders
In heaven and on earth,
Who has also delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.” ~ Daniel 6:26-27 NASB95
The power of praying to God on our knees can not be overstated. We should have everlasting-life through Jesus Christ and as man listens, God speaks…we can hear a little clearer from a position of humility rather than a relaxed position. Being on our knees reminds us what we are doing and who we are doing it for. We bow before God and nothing else – no one else.
Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
