The Tongue of Disciples…

The Tongue of Disciples…

When do we listen to the Lords voice? When does Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit or God speak to us? Are we living on something He spoke in the past or are we dinning on fresh Words spoken in the moment?

Having been lax in spending time with the Lord it is easy to live off past Words spoken by our God. Romans 12:2 reminds us that we are to renew our mind and transform our lives in order to prove the perfect will of God. How often should we do this? Daily? Hourly? Minute by minute? Lamentations reminds us that God is waiting for us each morning to renew our mercies. God is waiting for us to awaken so that He may renew us in the day the Lord has made.

When we transform our mind combine it with new mercies each morning shouldn’t we be listening for the Living Word of Jesus Christ to speak to us at least in the first part of the day? Shouldn’t we seek the Kingdom of God, first, in all that we do?

It always amazes when these simple things are done. When seeking, asking and knocking for the Lord, our Savior, to lead the Way what follows is always, always, always far beyond anything ever imagined. It is keeping this in the forefront of our mind, the forefront of our heart and with all our soul that presents the challenge. We are weak in our flesh but mighty in His Spirit, its the remembering to live in His Spirit that the noise of confusion makes us struggle. Soon enough we have forgotten these simple task and we are no longer seeking, asking and knocking, but rather chaos, perplexity and neglect invade our heart, mind and soul.

Thus says the Lord,
“Where is the certificate of divorce
By which I have sent your mother away?
Or to whom of My creditors did I sell you?
Behold, you were sold for your iniquities,
And for your transgressions your mother was sent away.
Why was there no man when I came?
When I called, why was there none to answer?
Is My hand so short that it cannot ransom?
Or have I no power to deliver?
Behold, I dry up the sea with My rebuke,
I make the rivers a wilderness;
Their fish stink for lack of water
And die of thirst.
I clothe the heavens with blackness
And make sackcloth their covering.”
The Lord God has given Me the tongue of disciples,
That I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word.
He awakens Me morning by morning,
He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.
The Lord God has opened My ear;
And I was not disobedient
Nor did I turn back. ~Isiah 50:1-5 NASB95

Morning by morning He awakens our ear. He loves us even when chaos, perplexity and neglect invade our heart, mind and soul, He is making the storm to pass. Can we see it, can we hear it passing by?

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
