The Word and The Light…
One of the main differences between God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and any and all other gods is followers of Jesus Christ listen to Him speak. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who is God, speaks to anyone that believes in Him.
No, not something that a person “thinks” they hear or the wind blowing or another speaking – all of these God does speak through – but primarily we hear from God in the written Word. When a person sits down to read the Bible and ask God to speak, the Words on the page become alive. They, literally, speak to us. If a person is filled with darkness, well, they can hear from God as well. The darkness, which God will deal with, has to be driven out and only Light can do that. The Light of the World is Powerful beyond measure and no depth of darkness is too much to have the Light pierce it and break through. God also speaks in an audible voice directly with us. Yes, people hear God speaking every day, all day. We are speaking of the people that hear the devil telling them to do some evil, God is incapable of evil. So, anyone that says “god told me to do “X” [and X is something evil, vile or inhumane – that’s the devil, that’s not God].
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. ~John 1:1-5 NASB95

We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.
Since all things came into being through God, that means we came from God. That means we belong to Him. We are His children. We are life and Light.
It’s difficult to warp ones head around this and take it in. If a person still doesn’t believe these Words are alive…well, good luck. These few passages are breathing Life into this bag of bones. We are the Light of the world. We the people, are the Light that shines in the darkness. We are the ones that God has appointed, has anointed, to carry His message into the darkness, where it can’t even be understood on any level. WOW!
When do we begin lining up the local rescue mission, drug addiction and recovery house or the hospitals, the orphanage’ and the like? When? What does it take? What will it take?
We don’t have to get on a plane and fly halfway around the world, odds are, there is an endless list of opportunities right in every neighborhood throughout the area where everyone lives. How do we carry the message to the world? By starting right where we stand. Carry the Light into the darkest place one can find and see what happens. The idea of sitting across from a twice convicted murderer never would cross a persons mind, until it happens. Calling a group of more than 10 men just out of prison “cowards” would never come into ones thoughts and actions, until it happens. When it happens, and the full force of the Light fills the space, it is undeniable. Enemies flee, as the darkness can not comprehend the Light. God is present as He is the Word and the Word was God.
Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
