It All Changes With Prayer…

Being a Prayer Warrior is more of a challenge than was originally understood. Beginning on September 9th we have been praying, daily, for a dear friend and his family. We have written each of these prayers and the following day they have been published. If you’ve never prayed over someone, for an extended period of time, it is an exercise that every follower of Jesus Christ should do. Now that the barn door has been opened, there will be no closing; there will never again be a door on the barn to close. We will seek out others to pray over every day going forward.

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. ~Matthew 6:7 KJB

While prayer has been a part of daily life for several years now, praying multiple times a day is not unusual at all. There is little struggle, there is little effort that it takes to manifest a connection with God, pray over food, over the day and give thanks for the many blessings in our life. But, taking on specifics. Being 100% engaged in the prayer takes the prayer to another level. There is no immediate connection – love, the Mind of Christ and kindness must enter the space. These three, along with faith, hope and encouragement all make their way to the table and begin softening the heart, opening the mind and plugging into the awesome, raw Power of God makes for a moment that one probably doesn’t want to end. At least not too quickly. It has been shown to reveal another layer, a whole other depth to prayer that was previously unknown.

And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? ~Matthew 6:28-30 KJB

God already knows our needs. We should ask what He wants of us. We needn’t bother with seeking “stuff”, He’s already showering our lives with all of that. We should seek His wisdom, His will and then carry that out – especially, those times that we don’t seem to understand what He’s saying. Like telling us something to the tune of “run a marathon” when running is not our thing. We should seek out what that is and pursue it.

We should seek a deeper faith through prayer, through quiet time and through seeking the Kingdom of God first in all that we do. It all begins with prayer and it all changes with prayer. Our understanding, our seeing the beauty of God in all situations – all situations – can only be known through prayer, otherwise we are doing nothing more than screaming at an empty sky.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
