Darkness Does Not Comprehend Light…
and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” ~Revelation 21:4 NASB95
What a beautiful picture that verse paints in the mind (heart). This is one of the more attractive aspects of Christianity – the passing away of death, mourning, crying and pain. Who wants more of these elements in their life?
When going through the Steps of AA, especially the Steps that involve the works, Steps 4 through 9 there was a lot of these elements on a continual basis. Women can relate more so than men but birthing is painful. When a person is reborn they are going through a type of birthing. If all the garbage is fished out of the soul (heart) it can be extremely painful going through this process. We attempt to shine Light in the darkness, but the darkness does not comprehend the Light, so, there must be – must be – a re-birth into the Light. When darkness does not comprehend Light, to get to the Light we must find an alternative route – rebirth is that route. We can not maintain who we were and be reborn into the Spirit, any more than we can be placed back into our mothers womb. Not going to happen.

We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. ~John 1:1-5 NASB95
Jesus was with God from the beginning. Jesus Christ was part of the creation of our world and everything in it, including us – you the reader and me, the person writing. Jesus has been with us since before the beginning.
All that pain and anger we believe we must suffer doesn’t have to be. We can actually find peace, joy and love here today. What are you most afraid of? When we become willing to answer this question in community the Holy Spirit rushes to fill us. Rushes to expose our greatest fear, deepest guilt and our darkest shame. It will be laid bare right in front of us. When we confess these to God and to another human being peace, joy and love fill the void.
‘And it shall be in the last days,’ God says,
‘That I will pour forth of My Spirit on all mankind;
And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
And your young men shall see visions,
And your old men shall dream dreams;
Even on My bondslaves, both men and women,
I will in those days pour forth of My Spirit
And they shall prophesy.
And I will grant wonders in the sky above
And signs on the earth below,
Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke.
The sun will be turned into darkness
And the moon into blood,
Before the great and glorious day of the Lord shall come.
And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of
the Lord will be saved.’ ~Acts of the Apostles 2:17-21 NASB95
Are we in the “last days“? Has the Holy Spirit been poured on all mankind? Is revival in the air? Are young men seeing visions and old men dreaming dreams? Are the people setting themselves free from tyrannical governments around the world? Are wonders in the sky being revealed? Is the blood and fire engulfing our women and children in the form of human trafficking on an unprecedented scale? Is this not to feed, through pornography, prostitution and other perversions the sin of the flesh? It’s time to get right with God. It’s time for the Light to overcome the darkness and set the captives free. It’s time for us to come together, as we are, at the feet of Jesus Christ, Son of God, Lord and Savior of the world.
Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
