What Do We Sacrifice…

What Do We Sacrifice…

Prayer time, serving others and serving God. These are sacrifices we make. What do we sacrifice in the material world?

What is the purpose of what we are doing?

Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.~Matthew 22:37-40 NKJB

Now is your chance to support Gospel News Network.

We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.

How do we show God, the Father and Jesus, the Son that  we love them with all our heart, all our soul and all our mind? By doing the second half of the Greatest commandment – love your neighbor as yourself When this act of kindness, love and respect flows through us – our heart, mind and soul – we are honoring God and living like Christ. When we look at another person and feel compassion and empathy in our heart, mind and soul we are following Jesus and praising God.  Who’s done this hour, sometime today? this week? this month? Pray that it is a great many and many more still will pause and ensure this goes to the front of thought.

Not being good at loving your neighbor as yourself is no reason to stop. We must keep trying, we must continually push ourselves to draw nearer to God. By continually trying we will get better. We may be mocked in our early attempts, we may have stones thrown at us and we may even get an illness from being in close quarters with someone. We are not allowed to change the Greatest Commandment. We are not allowed to do what we want and expect God to sacrifice His one and only Son for us when we can’t even cross the street to share the Good News with one of His children.

What do we sacrifice in comparison to what has been sacrificed on our behalf? Change the message to fit our life, to fit the times or to fit the narrative? How can one change all the Law and all the Prophecies?

Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
