Firewall Before God…
What is blocking you from God? What does reformation look like? How often does one need to confess, repent and ask forgiveness? Why is honesty one of the keys to the Kingdom? What is blocking you from God?
Usually people equate “recovery” with drugs, alcohol and, possibly, pornography. What about work, stubbornness, gluttony, smoking cigarettes, gambling, infidelity, laziness, co-dependency, spousal or child abuse, prostitution? The list could go on and on, but this is a good start.
Most of us only see the need for recovery in other people’s lives, not our own. “I’m not an addict, why do I need “recovery”? Some people hear these words and turn their back, turn a deaf ear or simply presume the conversation doesn’t involve them since they are not afflicted. Well, guess what? You are. You need reformation every. single. day. Everyday of our lives we need to be reformed.
Now is your chance to support Gospel News Network.
We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.
Reformation as defined by Merriam-Webster – the act of reforming : the state of being reformed. We all, every person on earth, needs to be reformed.
Synonyms for reformation is defined by Merriam-Webster – the act, process, or result of improving something by removing flaws, problems, etc.
If this doesn’t describe you, then you should change your name. Something that would describe the behavior of a person living a sin free life. Something that would describe a person who is perfect in every way. Well, since that’s not you, let’s look at what Isaiah said.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 NKJB
We can not have thoughts higher than God. We can not commit an act in purity, only God can do that. Therefore, we must need to be reformed on some level every. single. day. and possibly multiple times a day.
We must do our best to tear down the firewall before God and remove that which blocks us from His will, His strength and His power intended for our lives. His greatest desire is for His children to be mighty and righteous. We can only do that by removing the items that block us from knowing His will for us in this day.
But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. ~Hebrews 3:13 NASB1995
while it is said,
“Today if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts, as when they provoked Me.” ~Hebrews3:15 NASB1995
Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
