When Stone is Bone
Rocks and concrete are not human bone. What if we look at them as bone for just a moment, what would see?
When a persons life begins spinning out of control and are awash in sin what is happening? Their “temple” built by God is under attack. It is impossible to “love God with all your heart, mind and soul” if they have been handed over to the enemy, the great deceiver, the liar king and we set in motion “the beginnings of sorrows”
Are we seeing lives transformed from God’s plans to something completely different or is something else going on? Our friends and family, the community as a whole, see all of this as a big surprise. While it is a shock to the system of those in our lives it is no surprise to God. Pastor Mike explained this in great detail during our Sunday service and while he spoke, it was as if God was saying “I already knew what was coming – you didn’t, but I had it under control.” When our lives fall completely apart from addiction, pornography, overeating, pick your sin, it is part of what He wants us to go through in order to get closer to Him.

We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.
While our experience is something like “Not one stone shall be left upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” The reality is our bones are taking the necessary steps to get closer to God. If someone we know and love is involved in a serious drug addiction and they don’t get out, it is still part of God’s plan for that person and for the people closest to them. It is always God’s plan for us to follow Christ just as He said “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him. As our bones are crushed under the weight of sin once we turn towards the Son of Man, Jesus Christ, He immediately rebuilds the crushed stone into human bone. A heart softened for the love of Jesus Christ is how He pulls us out of the fire and sets our feet on a solid foundation.
Matthew 13 NKJV
1 Then as He went out of the temple, one of His disciples said to Him, “Teacher, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!”
2 And Jesus answered and said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone shall be left upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked Him privately,
4 “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?”
5 And Jesus, answering them, began to say: “Take heed that no one deceives you.
6 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many.
7 But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet.
8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows.
