The Beauty and Chaos of Genesis

The Beauty and Chaos of Genesis by Randolph Jason for Gospel News Network

After spending more than two months studying Genesis the images that God’s Word creates in our heart are amazing, revealing and show us how our lives actually work. If you’ve studied – which is different than simply reading – you already know. If you haven’t studied this amazing God inspired book I would highly recommend it. The insight provided is truly astonishing.

As a person begins venturing into Genesis it’s easy to see both the beauty and chaos in our lives. We make decisions based on our ego/pride and the next thing you know we find ourselves committing a horrific crime or sleeping around with others when we are happily married or just trying to live our life, share truth with our family and having our family, not just turn on us, but attack us and, once again, doing something that should never be done much less to a loved one. The adventure that is Genesis is a wild ride.

After working through all that is Genesis and seeing the chaos we humans are capable of doing – even from the beginning of Creation itself – it is mind numbing to see how we seemingly never learn. We see the failures of others and comment about how “I’d handled that differently to avoid that mistake.” and within a few months, days, weeks, hours or minutes, well, there we go, right off the rails doing exactly what we said we’d never do. Here we are approximately four-thousand years later and nothing has changed – nothing. Thank God for God.

Genesis is such a beautiful ride. What’s so beautiful is to see how God orchestrates our lives. Once this is revealed it is truly a challenge to unsee. God is in everything we do. Of course our free will plays a part in what does and does not happen, but in the “rearview mirror” we can clearly see what happened or didn’t happen based on our connection to God.

Do yourself a favor and dig into the story of us. The story that God breathed through His chosen people. The story that is intended to introduce us to God, creation and humanity.

We will continue this line of thought in the days ahead. If anyone is struggling and needs to talk please send us an email Info@GospelNewsNetwork.org and we can swap phone numbers and begin a true dialogue. God bless.
