When We Did Eat Bread To The Full…

How many times do we receive blessings from God and then begin winning about what it is, how much it is or when it arrived? Yes, we do thank God for blessings, but not always. Yes, we do receive blessings in a timely manner, but not always on “our time line”.

Blessings can be humbling situations, they can also be cause for great joy and celebration. The prodigal son is a blessing that is cause for great joy and celebration. Being freed from slavery, from bondage in Egypt after more than four-hundred years should be cause from great joy and celebration, but was it?

And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: and the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger. ~ Exodus 16:2-3 KJB

Just being set free, escaping by the Hand of God and still find time to fuss about how hard everything is?! Yep, that’s what sinful people do. We want everything as we think it should be and when it is out of balance with our thoughts, you know, where the devil finds the easy port of entry, we suddenly find ourselves ready to turn back to be slaves once again. The addiction, overeating, pornography, debt, womanizing, prostitution and the like are just so much more appealing when we are faced with our true innermost feelings. When we have to live with ourselves, slavery, bondage, can seems like the way to go. It is not. For we sin against God and no one else.

And Moses said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD. ~ Exodus 16:8 KJB

As we grow stronger in our faith the devil grows stronger in the attacks. The devil watches and knows all the weak points, especially the weak points we no longer think about. The devil knows just how to open the door, change our thoughts and then begin hardening our heart to make manifest the sin in our life. We have the opportunity to stop the devil in his tracks, when we turn back to Jesus Christ, rebuke, in the name of Jesus Christ, the unclean spirits, thoughts, images and phrases that move through our mind, Jesus will clear the space and the devil will flee. We have to remember to do this all the time.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
