Who Were the Shepherds? Video by Messages of Christ
Almost every nativity set includes shepherds who had been abiding in the fields keeping watch over their flock. After the angel told them that Christ the Lord had been born and would be wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger, with haste they went looking for the newborn King. Once they found Jesus who had indeed been born in a manger, they worshipped the Messiah and immediately spread the word of his miraculous birth. This video explores the meaning of the story of the shepherds in the Bible and how we too can be witnesses of Jesus Christ.
