Nothing Will Be Restrained From Them…
It’s been said by some the gift of imagination is the second greatest gift our Heavenly Father, God of All, has imparted to us. The greatest of all gifts being the Holy Spirit. Does this make sense? Has it ever been a thought before? We have thought a lot about the gift of imagination and how it works in our life.
And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. ~ Genesis 11:4-5 KJB
Is imagination where the Holy Spirit delivers new thoughts, new visions, new information that, not only, helps us as individuals but helps our community, our country and the whole of the earth? It seems to be the case – if one believes in the Holy Spirit. The visions, dreams, thoughts and images are not from us. They can be from the devil, however, if the mind has been cleared through prayer and asking Jesus Christ to rebuke any and all visions, dreams, thoughts and images that are not from God then how could they not be clean? If, through prayer, we ask Jesus Christ to rebuke any and all unclean spirits from the space we occupy, how can unclean spirits remain in our space? They can’t. The only thing is, we don’t know how long they have to be removed. The unclean spirits will return, as that is what they do, we just don’t know how long it is before they return for their next attack.

We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.
All of this to ask why is it that God was upset about the people using their imagination?
And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. ~ Genesis 11:6 KJB
A couple of the greatest inventions, certainly in our lifetime, have been personal computers and cell phones. Are these products evil? Were these products held up as an offering, a glorification of God, a praise and honor to God? Or were they held up as a marvel of capitalism, inventions from children of men for the use by children of men? It seems to be a fair question in light of God’s response to the people building a tower to reach heaven in their name and not as a tower to honor, praise and glorify God.
We are not challenging God, we are asking simple questions that, seemingly, have complicated answers. Complicated to us, but maybe not to others. Taking the words in Genesis 11 at face value, not reading anything into them or taking anything away from them, it seems ripe for questions. Once again, not as an attack, but to help deepen the relationship with God, to better understand how this gift of imagination works and how we, as children of God, are to use this gift. Personally, I’m a child of God and throughout the days most everything done is by His Hand, through the Holy Spirit that lives in me. It is not for myself, it is for God, for His children.
Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
