You Also Have Seen Me And Believe Not…
Then Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. ~ John 6:10-11 NKJB
When we remember, when we give praise and honor to God, for what He has already done in our life it doesn’t leave much room for what to seek after new things. Our cup is already full to overflow. Our hearts are full of love, lungs filled with oxygen, food in our belly and a roof overhead. We are living in the glory of God and can’t see it for want of the next thing.
It is when we are eating bread and not feasting on the Word of God from the Son of Man that are left wanting. When we feast upon the Living Word we are filled to overflow and our hearts are filled with joy.

We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.
But we want more. We want it all and we want it now. Just as the non-believers did as Jesus is preparing to deliver the greatest sermon the world will ever know. The sermon that makes clear our lives mission, our ebbs and flows, our giving and receiving and all that we could possibly need to know is about to handed to a group of 5,000 and they want more bread and fish!! Just as we want more in our life instead of appreciating what we have been given already.
Today we have people that follow rock bands and other performers around from city to city in order to watch as many shows as possible. They like the entertainment and like what the performers are doing and would rather not miss out on their next trick. We call them “groupies” today as they have nothing to do with the band or the performers, except to hand around, follow the band and live a life outside the prescribed norms. Jesus had “groupies” and at this time there were about 5,000 of them that went from place to place to see the next “show” the next sign, the next wonder, the next healing. They were only interested in the show and not the feast.
They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work? Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. ~ John 6:30-33 KJB
Being in the presence of Jesus Christ is where we should seek to be at all times. We should seek, first, His presence, His word, His guidance called God’s Will. We should be willing to seek, first the guidance for our lives and how we should conduct our days before we do anything else. But we usually don’t do that. We usually go about our business as we see fit never giving much thought, much time or attention to the Son of God.
Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. ~ John 6:34-36 KJB
When do we believe? When do come to appreciate that God, through Jesus Christ, has pulled our wretched soul from the fire and stood us on solid ground? When do we accept that fact as our cup overflowing with His life in us? What a gift we are given and all that is ask in return is praise, honor and glory for the gifts given.
Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
