Belted About With Truth…

With peace in our life how is it that we should walk in war? If we are living our life in the peace of the Lord we should not take the life of another. We should seek, first, the face of God and the wisdom of Christ, that our heart would remain calm. Taking the life of one of God’s children should be last on the list of solutions to the most dire of situations.

that the LORD may continue His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, If your children take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said He) a man on the throne of Israel. ~ 1 Kings 2:4 KJB

When we walk in peace, but commit murder with our heart we are way outside the law and the Gospel. We have thrown the law to the ground and, knowingly, turned our back to our Lord, Jesus Christ. If we walk with the Lord we must keep all His statues, all His commandments, all His judgements and all His testimonies otherwise, we are turning our back on God and we will fail in our endeavors. If we have no one on the throne, if we have not Jesus Christ in our heart and soul, who will cleanse us as we live outside the law and in our sinful ways?

Moreover you know also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner, and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peacetime, and put the blood of war upon his belt that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet. ~ 1 Kings 2:5 KJB

Who can, knowingly, smear the Truth of the Lord in murderous blood, and yet, have all be well? Who can, knowingly, smear the Living Word of the Gospel, in murderous blood, and yet continue to live a God centered life; is that possible?

Apostle Paul, who knows all too well about having a murderous heart, tells us how to make this right. Paul outlines, using two of the exact same articles of the whole Armor of God that David used, to show us we can be redeemed, we can be saved and we can bound in Truth and walk in the Living Word.

Stand therefore, having your loins belted about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; ~ Ephesians 6:14-15 KJB

While we may sicken ourselves with the laws we have broken while living separated from God we can turn back to Jesus Christ and live a Holy Life in His forgiveness. Our belt of Truth can be cleansed with the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ and our boots can be laced with the Living Word of Jesus Christ.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
