But Whom Say You That I Am…
How does our basket fill to overflow? How do we hear what He says?
But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened? ~ Mark 8:17 NKJB
Since man does not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. It seems to be clear that Jesus is telling us to soften our heart that we may feast upon His Words. As we feast and become filled with His joy, goodness and strength our basket – our wretched vessel – we are filled to overflow.

We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.
When we do not understand where our strength derives we remain weak in Spirit. When we do not understand how love and joy fill our heart we approach others with caution and fear. When we do not understand how the goodness in our lives is multiplied by His promises and grace we lash out in jealousy. Our lives are meant to serve Jesus Christ and His children. Our lives are intended to reflect His mercy, that are renewed every morning. We are to raise His name over our lives for all to see. He can, and will, do all this and much more and we never, ever have to speak of it to anyone.
If our lives are a reflection of Jesus Christ those with eyes to see will see and those with ears to hear will, in fact, hear.
And Jesus went out, and His disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked His disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am? And they answered, John the Baptist: but some say, Elijah; and others, One of the prophets. And He said unto them, But whom say you that I am? And Peter answered and said unto Him, Thou art the Christ. And He charged them that they should tell no man of Him. ~ Mark 8:27-30 KJB
If we are humble in our actions, soft in our tongue and bold in our strength people will want to know more. People will be attracted to how we live. People will see something in us they will want to know more about. We, then, can draw from Jesus’ Word that filled each of the vessels to overflow.
Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
