Does Your Family Believe You are “Out of Your Mind”? You’re in Good Company Because Jesus Faced the Same Thing with His Family

Does Your Family Believe You are “Out of Your Mind”? You’re in Good Company Because Jesus Faced the Same Thing with His Family by Brian Shilhavy, Editor, Health Impact News

Does your family think you are “out of your mind” because you disagree with them on things like COVID-19 measures such as the wearing of masks, and taking COVID-19 vaccines?

If you are being accused of being “out of your mind,” please take comfort from the fact that people said the same thing about Jesus Christ when he walked this earth, including his own family who wanted to seize him, and stop him from his “insanity.”

Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat.

When his family heard about this, they went to seize him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”

Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him.

A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, “Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you.”

“Who are my mother and my brothers?” he asked.

Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.” (Mark chapter 3)

This story is recorded in the 3rd chapter of the Gospel of Mark. The context of this story is that the public ministry of Jesus was increasing in popularity, due to the fact that he was actually healing people and also casting demons out of people.

This brought in crowds from all over Israel and even beyond to find this man who was healing people, and listen to his teaching:

Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lake, and a large crowd from Galilee followed.

When they heard all he was doing, many people came to him from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, and the regions across the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon.

Because of the crowd he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him, to keep the people from crowding him.

For he had healed many, so that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch him.

Whenever the evil spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.” But he gave them strict orders not to tell who he was. (Mark 3:7-12)

This caused no small controversy, because Jesus was challenging the Globalists of his day, as the “priests” were the only ones allowed to declare someone as “healed” according to the Law of Moses.

Jesus got so fed up with them and their tyrannical control over the people, that he rubbed it into their faces, by daring to not only heal people, but do it on the “Sabbath” in defiance of their authority.
