Jonathan Cahn Reveals the 3,000‐Year‐Old Mystery That Holds the Secret to America’s Future by KAREN JENSEN SALISBURY for Charisma News
It was 2014 when Jonathan Cahn first released his book The Mystery of the Shemitah, the stunning follow-up to his blockbuster best-seller, The Harbinger, which shook the world. Readers around the globe learned that the Shemitah (shmee‐TA), or Sabbath year, is the seventh year of the seven‐year agricultural cycle mandated by the Torah for the land of Israel.
They also learned that understanding this seven‐year pattern is essential for understanding the prophecy and mysteries of the Bible that are still applicable today.
But there was more.

In 2018, Cahn released an updated version of The Mystery of the Shemitah. This new version expands on the key revelations he shared in the original, and contains updated information with five new chapters that cast new light on the ongoing biblical patterns and cycles happening today. It is an absolutely riveting read.
How the Shemitah Applies Today
In the dynamic updated edition of The Mystery of the Shemitah, Cahn reveals new insight on current events such as:
-
How the Great Depression, and other economic events fit into the Shemitah
-
How the pattern of sevens predicted 9/11 to the exact hour
-
How the World Trade Center was conceived, started, finished, and destroyed in Shemitah years
-
How the rise—and possibly the fall—of America can be linked to the year of the Shemitah.
-
How stock market crashes in 2015 were linked to the period of nullification at the end of the Shemitah.
In this electrifying book, Cahn asks and answers the sobering question: could God be sending a warning to people and nations of the modern world, just as He did to people and nations in ancient times? The answer is a resounding yes.
He writes that the Bible reveals a clear pattern: before judgment, God warns. In the days of ancient Israel God sent warning of impending national judgment through varied means, through visions, through dreams, through audible voices, through prophetic utterances, through signs, through the written word, through prophetic acts, through supernatural occurrences, and through the outworking of natural events.
The Bible states that God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We must therefore conclude that not only can God send a prophetic warning into the modern world, but also, where judgment is concerned, He will send warning. So in the case of a nation standing in danger of impending calamity or destruction, we can expect that such warning will be given, and in a way consistent with those given in biblical times.
