Zeal of Thine House…
When followers of Jesus Christ obey immoral laws are they obeying the laws of Cesar [man] or should they ignore these immoral laws and continue to follow the laws, the Living Word of Jesus Christ?
This is not a trick question

We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.
If we obey immoral laws of man and ignore the teachings of Jesus Christ this is not going to end well for us. We are not going to be considered followers of Jesus Christ, but rather, as the surf of the sea tossed about with the blowing wind. We will, in fact, be double-minded, as James, Brother of Jesus, so apply stated.
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. ~James 1:5-8 NASB95
If we are double-minded, seeking the Mind of Christ, and seeking His wisdom may evade our thought process. Odds are we are not seeking the Kingdom of God first. Odds are we are ignoring the Laws of Moses and the Prophets. It would be a real challenge to accept abortion, while saying you love your neighbor as yourself – if you are seeking the Mind of Christ and His wisdom. It would be a real challenge to walk away from seeing your neighbor be beaten, or shot, by another human being, while claiming we are all sons and daughters of God. This is not hard.
This is not a challenge and it should not be a question. We are to respond, without thought, to one of our brothers or sisters in Christ having fallen to the ground. We should be able to respond, without thought, to one of our brothers or sisters in Christ being mistreated by another person, for whatever reason, if we are following Christ. This is not hard.
When immoral laws are the norm, society is run by criminals. As a follower of Christ, and doing all we can to live a Christian life, how can we continue to accept, to follow immoral laws? Currently, we are a “silent majority” that is rapidly allowing our silence to transform us into the “silent minority”.
And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, and found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: and when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; and said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise. And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up. ~John 2:13-17 KJB
Not sure there is anything that can be added to those 5 versus for clarity.
Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
