God Speak – Show Us A New Revival…
If we do the same thing over again will we get the same result, or the same result as before? I believe it was Einstein that said if you expect a different outcome that is the definition of insanity. Does God want us to go insane? Of course not, He wants us to live, live life abundantly in Him and His kingdom. How do we know what to do to achieve His goal? We ask Jesus Christ to tell us.
The Apostle Peter is ask a favorite question. It’s one of the questions that, apparently, God likes the most. This is proven in what happens, almost immediately, after this question is ask in at least two locations in the Gospels. Both are in Acts.
Peter is the middle of delivering one of the greatest Sermons in the history of the world and just as his is finishing one of the Jewish community members steps forth.
Now is your chance to support Gospel News Network.
We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.
Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do?” ~Acts 2:37 NASB95
“What shall we do?” with no qualifiers, no addendum’s or any other words ask. Simple, straight forward and absolutely open-ended. A person that ask this type of question is willing to accept the answer, and probably say “yes” to the response.
If we want to bring about revival, a new revival to glorify God, spread the Gospel and Advance the Kingdom it may be helpful to have a mens meeting, a women’s meeting and each group pray about what that looks like. Clear the room of all spirits not from, and for, Jesus Christ and listen to what God wants us to do.
Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” ~Acts 2:38-40 NASB95
For repentance to begin, in order to “amend” our lives, we must confess our sins. Acknowledging our sins, our separation from God, one-to-another or said another way, in community, is vital to hear from God in our Christ identity. If there is no witness, it didn’t happen.
Let’s clear the air, give our hearts to God and seek His will so revival will grow. So revival will spring forth from the ashes in a new way, in the way that God has called of each of us to Him.
Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
