God Among You…
As our days unfold before us we are greeted by an endless line of madness, an endless line of happiness and an endless line of choices between the two. The stability of our relationship with Jesus Christ is what makes the difference. If we have been spending time in His presence, if we have been handing over, to Jesus, our confessions of misgivings, our character defects and shortcomings we have a much better chance at walking in joy and happiness while avoiding some, or all, of the madness that awaits us. Confession, quickly followed by repentance keeps the slate clean and our heart and mind open to hear from God.
Discipleship is one of the ways we can stay close to Jesus and walk in the comfort of the Holy Spirit. Having an opportunity to share Jesus with each person that crosses our path we should take advantage of the moment when it occurs. When we do this, from a place of humility and kindness, we open ourselves up to every situation known to mankind. We have no idea who we are sharing with nor do we have any idea of what that person is experiencing at that moment, but we step in anyway.
shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock. ~1 Peter 5:2-3 NASB95

Setting the table for goodness is easier than resetting table as if madness just set down or after it has been wrecked by a single word spoken in the wrong place. Most, if not all, have had this experience. When we approach someone in love it is easier to speak, especially with a smile.
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. ~1 Peter 5:6-8 NASB95

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
