A Tower of Strength…

A Tower of Strength…

Hear my cry, O God;
Give heed to my prayer.
From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For You have been a refuge for me,
A tower of strength against the enemy. ~Psalm 61:1-3 NASB95

When we cry out to the Lord, our God, and plead for Him to hear us we are speaking boldly to God. While our heart maybe faint, we are nowhere near unstable or double-minded, we are sure in our conviction to Christ Jesus, Emmanuel. It is without hesitation that we come before the Lord to seek His strength. While our strength is waining, the Lords is mighty at all times. While we still have breath in our lungs we cry out from the end of the earth seeking refuge in His tower of strength.

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. ~James 2:26 NKJB

We can not reach new heights, we can not dive deeper into the Love and Light of God if we are not acting from His tower of strength. If we are weak we rely upon His strength – right? If we are lost we rely upon His compass to find our way – right? If we don’t know the answer to a question, can’t solve a problem or understand what is happening around us we seek His wisdom – right?

Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, explains this to us in simple, easy to understand terms. Why do we not believe Him?

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. ~Matthew 6:33 NKJB

We have David tell us to cry out to the Lord with bold authority. With Jesus Christ, Emmanuel telling us flat-out – “seek first the kingdom of God” followed by James echoing what David said speak clearly, concisely and from a place of stability to receive all that the kingdom of God has waiting for us.

Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
