Recover A Ruined Situation
When God determines to recover a ruined situation He would find a man and baptize him in anguish. ~David Wilkerson
We can either take the Word of God seriously or we can go through the motions. Put on our Sunday wears, sit in the same pew and hear someone speaking about what Jesus did or what Jesus said back in the day. We have the free will of Liberty granted by God. We should be following the will of God by asking Him directly, as Saul did, through a very simple question – What do you want me to do?
When we are in God’s will the seeking, asking and knocking are appropriate. We can ask anything when we are acting as His slave. When we are in Christ, we are not doing for ourselves, we are doing for God. When we are trying to do what the Bible teaches we are breathing in the Living Word of God. We are in His Word. We can not fail. We will not fail.

When Saul ask Jesus Christ what do you want me to do? Saul took the very first step in becoming Paul. When will you join him? How long should we live with the scales on our eyes?
Saul was not having a good time. There was no party being thrown in his honor. No, quiet the opposite. Saul was in a lot of pain. Saul was bearing the brunt of hunting people of The Way. The shame, guilt and fear that must’ve been racing through his body…
As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”
And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” ~Acts 9:3-5 NKJB
Saul, this once great Jew, High Priest, Pharisee of Pharisee’s is now on the ground, by the Hand of God – and Saul know’s that it is, in fact, God’s acts that surround him.
We must take back our humility. We must find it in ourselves to feel pain, disgust and see the ruin we have created all around us. If this doesn’t happen, we can never see the beauty in God. We can never experience being thrown, out-of-the-blue, to the ground blinded by our own misdeeds to finally be awakened in our Christ identity.
More cake, more TV, more spending, more pornography, more lies, more hatred, more days-at-the-office, more exercise, more, more, more of whatever fills the hole…and it will never be enough.
It’s time to turn to The Way, the Truth and the Life and begin living in the Word of the Living God. Confess your sins and repent. Give the glory to God and let the chips fall where they may. Breathe in the ruin surrounding you – it is from your hand, take it in, give it all to God and give Him your life as He gave His for you.
Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
