Some Worshiped, Some Doubted…

Some Worshiped, Some Doubted…

Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. ~Matthew 28:16-17 NKJB

Is asking Jesus a “why” question the same as saying “no”? If we ask Jesus, in prayer, something like “why did “X” happen (or not happen)?” are we not actually starting off from a stance of unbelief? Most every time, if not every single time, a person ask a “why” based question it is drenched in anger. If not anger the question is, at the very least, from a point of doubt.  Isn’t God sovereign, doesn’t God know us from before the time we were formed in our mothers womb?

If the initial response to a question or a situation is no, doesn’t that close the door to, potential, future opportunities that we may not see in the present moment? Would we draw nearer to God if, under any circumstance, we began by thanking God for the endless blessings upon our lives? What if a family member, spouse, friend or a random person contracted cancer and we thanked God for the blessings within this situation and then prayed for healing, strength and God’s power to be unleashed within the situation; would that be pleasing to God and pleasing to our spirit?

How can someone look upon a person that was, literally, dead and buried but is now standing before them, how can a person have any doubt about what they are seeing?

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying,
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. ~Matthew 28:18-20 NKJB

So, the doubters didn’t allow themselves to hear what Jesus Christ says to them.

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”  If you are a follower of Jesus Christ in the 21st Century, what part of this statement is difficult to understand, accept or believe?

ALL AUTHORITY, repeat, ALL AUTHORITY has been given to Jesus Christ and He is counting on these 11 men to make disciples of all the nations (Greek translation of “nations “= ethnos – a race, people, nation; the nations, heathen world, Gentiles.). How will they know what to say to other people? They will never know what to say because it is not their words.

You, the reader, will never know what to say when you are out Advancing the Kingdom, making new disciples and spreading the Gospel. You will never know, because the words will never, ever be your own. The words you speak to each individual person will be God’s Word coming out of your mouth. Jesus is out front, He is behind, He is beside, He is INSIDE – “…I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
