Perfect Law of Liberty…
A few years ago there was a challenge presented and the question was – what is the difference between Liberty and freedom? The answer didn’t come until there was a renewing of faith, a renewing of heart, mind and spirit and this is what presented itself – Liberty comes from God and freedom comes from man. Other men grant freedom one to another. This freedom can be revoked at any time.
Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. ~James 1:21-25 NKJB
By doing His work and caring for His children, our brothers and sisters in Christ, we honor God. We don’t “do things” for reward or recognition, we do things because we want to honor God. Any reward is after and uncalled-for. We prefer to live under the perfect law of liberty and not forget what we have heard or spit out the Word.
Liberty has the same attributes and characteristics as freedom, however, Liberty coming from God is granted to all and can not be revoked. Some men, especially today, believe they can revoke our God granted Liberties, but they are wrong. There may come time when these men find they are dead wrong. Liberty is a strong force, granted by God. We, the men of this world, should not question the strength of God. That is a losing proposition.
