Hope: Something That Hasn’t Happened…Yet.

Hope: Something That Hasn’t Happened…Yet.

Merriam-Webster defines Hope in this way – to cherish a desire with anticipation to want something to happen or be true

With the celebration of the birth of Jesus, Immanuel, just around the corner it may be a good time to look to hope. Jesus Christ is the Hope of the World. Christians, and a great many other non-Christians, know of this hope we have in Jesus, some, that will admit it, actually understand our belief, but they just can’t seem to make the leap themselves. Still others held hope in the promises of Jesus Christ, but somewhere along the path let it go or simply turned their back on His goodness.

But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And
great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all. Yet He
warned them not to make Him known, that it might be fulfilled
which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
“Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen,
My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased!
I will put My Spirit upon Him,
And He will declare justice to the Gentiles.
He will not quarrel nor cry out,
Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets.
A bruised reed He will not break,
And smoking flax He will not quench,
Till He sends forth justice to victory;
And in His name Gentiles will trust.” ~Matthew 12:15-21 NKJB

Hope is one of the strongest forces on earth. The only force stronger is fear. It is the Hope we find in Jesus Christ that defeats fear, every. single. time. We – that’s you and me – must turn to Jesus Christ before our situation goes afoul. We must place our Hope, our dreams and our desires upon His shoulders and allow Him to guide our lives out of the dark forest of fear into the glorious day of Light. Hope is the bridge for that gap.

Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
