Clay…
Sitting here laughing at the foley we call our life. We somehow reach, these…ridiculous conclusions that we are somehow in charge of our life. How can it be that we are somehow smarter than the Creator? How is that we can somehow see around the corner just in front of us? Yes, God grants us freewill. We can do as we please. Looking back at the history of how that’s worked out…well, maybe yours worked better, but the wreckage in the rearview mirror needs to stay there. Freewill is for others. Seeking God’s will has been working just fine for the past several years, so, it seems only logical to do the same tomorrow as was done today.
The idea that we can form ourselves outside of the view of God, from this vantage point, seems down right…well…ridiculous. Can the clay in the ground dig itself out, add water to the perfect mixture, kneed itself to the just-right softness and then make itself into a bowl, a cup, a plate or anything at all? Of course not. What is the difference between our lives and a bundle of clay?
The first thing is we have to do is show up (be dug out of the ground). We must be born into this world.

We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.
After many years of attempting to make something from without it was only natural that returning to Jesus Christ made the most sense. It didn’t happen quiet like that, however, with some, it does. A good portion of us have to find the “bottom”, which is exactly what happened, before we can have our “come to Jesus” moment. Some, unfortunately, don’t even get then.
The clay is formed by the Master. The clay is bent, smashed and soaked until it bends to the Master’s hand. The clay never questions, never complains, it just simply is. If it were only that easy.
Woe to those who seek deep to hide their counsel far from the Lord,
And their works are in the dark They say, “Who sees us?” and, “Who knows us?”
Surely you have things turned around!
Shall the potter be esteemed as the clay;
For shall the thing made say of him who made it,
“He did not make me”?
Or shall the thing formed say of him who formed it,
“He has no understanding”? ~Isiah 29:15-16 NKJB
Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
