The Spirit of Deep Sleep
The greatest weapon of the enemy is convincing people that he doesn’t exist. No, there is no ‘devil’ / satan / enemy that’s just a “conspiracy theory”. This allows the enemy refuge in unsuspecting souls until such time as that walking carcass is of use. Then the enemy becomes all too real. Is this where our society is today; is this the channel that has allowed the moral decay and decadence to rise like a cloud of filth over the land? Is today any different than any other time in history?
For the first in history there are approximately 1.5 billion people, the world over, on “house arrest”. They committed no crime, but yet are imprisoned in their home. Some of you just checked out and are calling me all kinds of ugly names – that’s fine. Some of you are looking at me sideways like I just kicked your dog for no reason and others still are wondering where this is going.
This is Holy Week. This past Sunday, April 5, was Palm Sunday and we are told that Jesus Christ, the Messiah, just entered the city for the last time. As Christians did we celebrate this life, not to mention world, altering event or did we gather together for our weekly online ministry with other Christians the same as any other time we were unable to attend service in person? Was there anything special or world changing – in your life – about Palm Sunday? Did the palms fly, were there palms at all, did you celebrate communion?

We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.
House arrest has consequences. Being a Christian has consequences some of which are pretty awful while others defy description. While we sit in our homes hour after hour the enemy is making moves. The enemy is doing what the enemy does – stirring the pot to capture as many broken souls as possible. The enemy is pouring out a wine that has no boundaries, has no definition and can’t even be seen. That does not make it any less intoxicating.
You have read on this site a number of times that “drunkenness” may or may not have anything to do with wine / alcohol. Isiah reminds us, once again, this is always the case. Let us not be drunk on stupidity and allow the enemy free reign. We must hold on to and express our love for the Lord at all times. This, at some point in the near future, could mean being as defiant as our King was defiant when He was last here.
Isiah 29 NKJV
9 Pause and wonder!
Blind yourselves and be blind!
They are drunk, but not with wine;
They stagger, but not with intoxicating drink.
10 For the Lord has poured out on you
The spirit of deep sleep,
And has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets;
And He has covered your heads, namely, the seers.
11 The whole vision has become to you like the words of a book
that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is literate, saying,
“Read this, please.”
And he says, “I cannot, for it is sealed.”
12 Then the book is delivered to one who is illiterate, saying,
“Read this, please.”
And he says, “I am not literate.”
13 Therefore the Lord said:
“Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths
And honor Me with their lips,
But have removed their hearts far from Me,
And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,
14 Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work
Among this people,
A marvelous work and a wonder;
For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish,
And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.”
15 Woe to those who seek deep to hide their counsel far from the Lord,
And their works are in the dark;
They say, “Who sees us?” and, “Who knows us?”
16 Surely you have things turned around!
Shall the potter be esteemed as the clay;
For shall the thing made say of him who made it,
“He did not make me”?
Or shall the thing formed say of him who formed it,
“He has no understanding”?
