We are looking at the teaching of Jesus on the most important subject of all: the nature of God—
who God is.
Jesus affirmed the great truth that there is one God. And yet throughout the gospels, he speaks of
the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Father is God, the Son is God and the Holy Spirit is God.
There is one God, and he exists in three persons: The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.
Last week we saw that the Father has hidden the knowledge of himself from the wise and learned
(Matthew 11:25). In other words, by our own natural capacity, we do not have the ability to come to
the knowledge of God.
None of us has seen God or heard His voice, but God became a man in Christ Jesus (John 5:37). But
God became man in the Lord Jesus Christ: “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us,” (John
1:14).
One writer says, “If Jesus were only a man, he would be at an infinite distance from God…
If Jesus were only God, he would be at an infinite distance from us.”1
This is the marvelous truth at the heart of center of the gospel: The God who is at an infinite
distance from us has become man in Jesus Christ. He is God in the flesh. God with us. He is the one
who reveals the Father to us and through him we can come to the Father.
